Tonine Jackson was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She attended school in the Dallas Independent School District from grades K-12. She is a graduate of Lincoln High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and a Master’s in curriculum and instruction with a triple literacy emphasis from The University of Texas at Arlington.
Tonine has been an educator for four years. She has served as a fourth grade teacher for three years and a third grade teacher for one year in the Cedar Hill Independent School District.
As a member of the 2005 Class of the Turner 12, Tonine understands the organization’s dedication and ability to make a big difference in the lives of the students, board members and staff.
Literacy is a very big part of Tonine’s life and, in addition to educating young readers, she aspires to write her very own children’s books one day very soon.
